Little Boy Blue’s Credit Score Advice
“Little boy blue, come blow your horn.
The sheep’s in the meadow, the cow’s in the corn;
Where is the boy that looks after the sheep?”
“Prevention is better than cure” is an overly used phrase that I will try to avoid by using the Little Boy Blue rhyme. We all know about this fictional herdsman (er.. boy?) who was laxly herding his charge. Why did he allow the sheep to roam around the meadow and the cow to eat the corn?
“He’s under the haystack fast asleep”
Many of us are like Little Boy Blue. We become so lax, particularly in after availing loans. We do not stick to a predetermined way of repaying the debt and we thus fail to pay back our creditors. This is one Credit Score Advice that we must remember if we want to maintain a good credit report.
But worse than being lax is doing nothing about our obligations to repay. If we just sleep through this problem, like Little Boy Blue who fell asleep while tending sheep and cows, instead of doing something about it, the problem won’t be solved. Instead, it will only get worse.
Humpty Dumpty’s Credit Score Advice
“Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty together again.”
Humpty Dumpty, the legendary egg with the arms and the legs of a human being, incautiously sat on a wall without even thinking that he is a fragile egg that might be broken if ever he falls down from the wall he sat on.
If we are aware of our capabilities to repay a large amount of loan, then we should be careful in borrowing money from creditors. If in case we have no other choice but to ask for a loan, then we should only borrow a considerable amount which we are sure that we can repay.
Old Mother Hubbard’s Credit Score Advice
“Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard
To fetch her poor dog a bone
But when she got there
The cupboard was bare
And so the poor dog had none”
Using a connotative level of interpretation, let us think of Mother Hubbard’s cupboard as our pool of resources. We should make a conscious effort not to deplete our cupboard to the point of being empty because this is where we consider applying for loans.
My Credit Score Advice for all those people who have a cupboard like Mother Hubbard’s is that you should try to replenish your cupboard in time by minimizing expenses and getting more income at the time. If you have to pay outstanding debts, try talking to your creditor about repaying schemes that will not rob you of all your income.
Remember, the best way to get your credit report fixed is to manage your resources more carefully and to talk it out with your creditor. Communicating with your lenders will do you better than eluding them every time they ask you to pay your debt.
