For this you require to obtain the credit report from all the major credit reporting bureaus including Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. You can also get hold of your credit report online absolutely free of cost annually. However with every extra report you will have to pay extra amount of money.

Next important step is reviewing your report along with marking the erroneous information. You can take a print out if you come across several errors.  Subsequent to this write a letter to teh credit reporting agency indicating the incorrect information. Along with this letter it is important to attach a proof supporting the erroneous details. It is recommended that attach a photocopy of your report circling the errors. You can number them and accordingly refer them in your letter. This will assist in case there are various errors.

After this write a letter to the lender also offering information. Show them that a dispute regarding the erroneous details has been filed with the credit report bureau. Support your argument with a copy of required documents also.
