What is a credit report?

A credit report is a very important document that has the detailed information about a person’s credit history. Credit reports are generally used by creditors or lenders to know about the credit history of a person.

Credit reports has all the personal data of an individual including address, both past and present, history of employment and the social security number. It also has a credit history of the person and details of the number and kinds of accounts the person holds. They also provide information on ‘good standing’ and ‘past-due’ accounts. A comprehensive credit report also gives detailed information of the person’s credit history.
