Skimmer is an electronic device that is commonly used by the identity thieves for swiping stolen credit cards at the cash points, hopping malls and restaurants. All the cards hold a magnetic strip at the back which contains all required data about an individual and the skimmer successfully retrieves it. The information is further passed on through their network and new cards are prepared using these details. People are stripped off their hard earned money with the fraudulently prepared cards.
