You need to have a regular viewing of your credit reports from the three main credit companies i.e. the Trans Union, Equifax and Experian which give you free online report. You can compare the three reports so that you have a rough idea on what your credit reports are. These companies provide you quarterly, half-yearly or yearly reports are per your request.

In case of any disagreement no matter however small they may be you need to bring this matter to their notice so that you can get it re-solved and bring the changes in your forth coming credit reports.

To further keeps check on your credit monitoring reports you need to close down all those unused accounts so that you are able to notice any irregularities, unusual transaction or any theft of your identity.

The need to monitor your credit reports is important not only for the above mentioned reasons it helps not only your creditors give you loan but also gives them all the information regarding your name, address, financial status, your employers detail etc.

Another advantage of credit monitoring system is that you can get a job or a promotion based on this report as this credit report in general is a report wherein your whole life history is clearly mentioned, it also shows you the details of who are monitoring your credit reports.

There are advantages as well as disadvantages in hiring a credit monitoring agency, though you get to know of any irregularities or theft of your identity you pay a lot for their service, while on the other hand if you monitor your credit report yourself you are spending a lot of your precious time on checking and cross checking these reports.
